Seriun are thrilled to welcome James Moreton to the Seriun team as their new Service Desk Apprentice
James joins Seriun’s service desk with a passion for IT and a strong determination to build a successful career in the industry.
Meet James
Originally from Great Harwood, James brings valuable leadership experience from his previous role as Team Leader at the online retailer Studio. Although he does not have an IT background, he’s always been fascinated by technology and decided to make the switch to pursue a career in the industry.
James said: “I’ve always had an interest in IT and wanted to take the leap to make a career out of it. I’ve got a lot to learn, but thanks to Seriun I’ve got the opportunity to develop my knowledge and skills every day.”
Outside of work, he leads a busy life with partner Liz, his three children – Ryan (15), Alexis (9), and baby Charlie, who is just two months old. He loves spending time with his family, keeping fit, and socialising with friends.
Also a keen traveller, James has visited some incredible places, but Algonquin Park in Canada stands out as the most interesting destination he’s explored. Known for its vast wilderness, stunning lakes, and incredible wildlife, it’s an experience he’ll never forget.
James’ Role
As a Service Desk Apprentice, James is responsible for handling first-line tickets, troubleshooting IT issues, and providing support to Seriun’s customers. His role is hands-on, giving him the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers while building the foundation for his career in IT.
Jordan Hines, Help Desk Team Driver at Seriun, commented: “James has settled into the team really well. He’s got a great attitude, is eager to learn, and is already showing real potential. We’re looking forward to seeing him grow within Seriun and achieve his career goals.”
Investing in Career Development
Seriun is committed to helping people develop their careers in IT, whether they’re starting as apprentices, upskilling in technical roles, or working towards leadership positions. They believe in providing continuous learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and mentoring from our senior engineers to ensure their careers bloom.
James is working hard towards his ITC Level 3 Apprenticeship, and his ultimate goal is to secure a full-time position at Seriun once he completes his qualification and progress to 2nd Line Engineer, where he will be able to tackle more complex IT challenges in the future. With his drive and commitment, Seriun have no doubt that he’ll achieve it.
